Over the years Althia has successfully conducted over 350 immigration evaluations in cases including but not limited to U-visas, VAWA/Domestic violence petitions, Asylum Cases, Cancelation of Removal cases, and Extreme Hardship Waivers. With a specialization in trauma and experience as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor since 2005, Well Way Counseling & Evaluations has a true grasp of the psychological aspects related to the legal needs of each immigration case. Althia McLaughlin is a bilingual licensed psychotherapist who offers immigration evaluations in-person (North Carolina only) and virtually (North Carolina and South Carolina) in English or Spanish. For individuals who do not speak English or Spanish, interpreters may be used.
As you know, psychological evaluations for immigration cases can be extremely powerful forms of evidence in immigration cases. They can oftentimes be the piece of evidence that makes a difference between whether or not a case is won.

“Ms. McLaughlin is among the best. I always feel comfortable referring my clients to her for evaluations. Ms. McLaughlin takes the time to meet with clients on more than one occasion and accurately articulates the hardship facing my clients as they navigate the immigration system.”
