Insurance

Most individual psychotherapy appointments are scheduled for a 50-53 minute block of time. We accept Blue Cross & Blue Shield (BCBS) or self-pay/out-of-pocket for therapy sessions. It is essential that you contact your insurance to confirm mental health coverage for your specific plan. It is each clients’ responsibility to call to confirm benefits prior to the first session and with each new calendar year.

When you call your insurance, please ask the following questions:

  • Do I have outpatient mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is the deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my plan cover?
  • What is my copay amount?
  • What is the coverage amount per outpatient behavioral health session?
  • Is pre-approval required from my primary care physician?
  • Can you confirm that Althia Mclaughlin (NPI # 1578680963) is in-network with my specific plan?

Rates are as follows:

The out-of-pocket cost for individual sessions is $150 per session. If you are insured by a company other than BCBS, upon request, Well Way can provide you with super bills, which you can send to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement of part of your full-fee payment.

Immigration evaluations must be paid for out-of-pocket. Insurance cannot be used for the immigration evaluation and letter. Learn more about Immigration evaluations here or please contact our office for details and fees.

Payment:

Cash, check, all major credit cards, and HSA are accepted.

Cancellation Policy

Except in the case of an extreme emergency, a minimum of 48 hours is required to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Arriving more than 20 minutes late for your appointment is also considered a late cancellation. If you do not arrive for your appointment and have not notified us of a cancellation at least 48 hours in advance, you will be expected to pay the $150 late cancellation fee or a charge of $150 will automatically be made to your credit card on file.

This cancellation fee will be charged to all types of clients, including individuals whose appointments are being covered out-of-pocket, by insurance, or by their company’s EAP program and other similar programs.

It is important that you understand that without at least 48 hours notice of a cancellation, another client who may have desperately needed an appointment, will miss out on a chance to schedule during this time slot left open by you. Please be respectful of your therapist’s time and the needs of other clients.
